Contact History

Track every change to your contacts and restore previous versions when needed.

Activity timeline

TitleDock maintains a complete history of every contact, so you always know what changed and when.

Tracked changes

The following events are recorded in contact history:

  • Field updates — Any change to name, email, phone, address, or other fields
  • Photo changes — When a contact photo is added, updated, or removed
  • Group membership — When a contact is added to or removed from groups
  • Merge events — When contacts are merged or unmerged
  • Sync events — Changes pushed from or pulled to external accounts
  • Import/export — When the contact was imported or included in an export

Each event includes a timestamp and the source of the change (which account or user).

Viewing history

To view a contact's history:

  1. Open the contact
  2. Click the History tab (or press ⌘H)
  3. Scroll through the timeline of changes
  4. Click any event to see the before/after values

You can filter history by event type, date range, or source account.

Restoring data

Undo changes

Made a mistake? Undo recent changes with a single click:

  • Press ⌘Z immediately after editing to undo
  • In History view, click "Revert" on any change to undo just that specific edit
  • Undo a merge to separate contacts back into their original records

Version comparison

Compare any two versions of a contact to see exactly what changed:

  1. Open History for the contact
  2. Select two versions from the timeline
  3. Click "Compare" to see a diff view
  4. Changed fields are highlighted with before/after values

Snapshots

TitleDock automatically creates daily snapshots of your entire contact database. Snapshots let you:

  • Restore a single contact — Roll back one contact to its state on any date
  • Bulk restore — Restore all contacts to a previous snapshot
  • Export snapshots — Download a historical backup

Snapshots are retained for 90 days on the Standard plan and 1 year on the Professional plan.
