Importing Contacts

Bring your existing contacts into TitleDock from CSV files, vCards, or directly from other services.

Import sources

TitleDock supports multiple import formats to make migrating your contacts as seamless as possible.

CSV files

CSV (Comma-Separated Values) is the most flexible import format, supported by virtually every contact management tool. To import a CSV file:

  1. Navigate to Contacts → Import
  2. Select "CSV File" and upload your file
  3. Map your CSV columns to TitleDock fields
  4. Preview the import and confirm

TitleDock automatically detects common column names like "First Name", "Email", "Phone", and maps them to the appropriate fields.

vCard files

vCard (.vcf) is the standard format for contact interchange. TitleDock supports vCard versions 2.1, 3.0, and 4.0. Simply drag and drop your .vcf file into TitleDock, or use the Import menu.

vCard imports preserve:

  • Contact photos
  • Multiple email addresses and phone numbers with labels
  • Addresses with full formatting
  • Organization and job title
  • Notes and custom fields

Third-party services

Import contacts directly from popular services:

  • Salesforce — Import leads, contacts, and accounts
  • HubSpot — Import contacts with company associations
  • LinkedIn — Import your connections (via exported archive)
  • Mailchimp — Import subscribers with tags and segments

Field mapping

Automatic mapping

TitleDock uses intelligent field matching to automatically map your import columns. We recognize hundreds of common field name variations:

  • "First Name", "FirstName", "Given Name", "fname" → firstName
  • "E-mail", "Email Address", "Primary Email" → email
  • "Mobile", "Cell", "Cell Phone", "Mobile Phone" → mobilePhone

Custom fields

For columns that don't match standard fields, you can create custom fields during import. Custom fields are fully searchable and can be used in Smart Group rules.

Common use cases for custom fields:

  • Lead source or referral information
  • Customer ID or external system identifiers
  • Industry or vertical classification
  • Contract renewal dates
